Watching the Wheels

I know it's late, but things have been crazy since it's the last half of the semester, and at least I didn't forget....

Congratulations to New Directions for winning Regionals! I really wish I had been there to at least watch you guys, but at least I get a chance to see you at Nationals in New York, right?

Of course, part of me feels bad that we didn't win last year, when I was still part of the group, but I'm happy for you guys. Really

I just saw Puck's journal post about it and started wondering - when's Regionals? Who are you guys up against besides Dalton? Am I gonna be able to watch you guys go on to Nationals? :)

Well, I survived, but just barely.

I had to skip class all day today to actually get some sleep. :(

(But in more positive news, our gig last Saturday went over well :) They want us back if we survive midterms!)

The bus back to Lima broke down in the middle of nowhere, so it took forever to get here.

I'm glad to be home - honestly, even though college is a lot of fun for one thing, there's drinking, I'm kind of over this semester already :-p Maybe it's the weather or something.

Is it Spring Break yet?

Hope I'll get to see some of you around town this weekend.

School is shaping up to be slightly better this week compared to the past weeks. Whew. I know it won't last because midterms are coming up, but I'll get it while I can.

A major reason why this week is shaping up to be a good one is because New Physics Rant finally has its first gig!

The Oberlin Anime Club is having a fundraiser this Saturday and we'll be providing some musical entertainment. (No, we weren't required to come in costume.) It's going to be on campus and tickets are $5 if you guys want to drop by and give us some love!

Which reminds me, I had better go practice my autograph signing :-p Just kidding - we're rehearsing in a bit (and no, I haven't forgotten to practice the songs for American Idiot - and speaking of that, we have to raise funds for the show, too, right?).

OK, I am going to stop being such a downer. It's just making me feel worse. For your amusement, here I am doing my best Justin Bieber impression at my dorm's Single Awareness Day party last Monday.

It looks like it's going to be another one of those weeks. What gives? It's too early in the semester for all this work. One would think that the profs would wait until midterms roll around. Also, I miss Tina.

A gap year sounds really good right about now, LOL.

Can it be the weekend already, please?

Well, it's near anyway, and it couldn't come at a better time. This has been a pretty stressful week and I'm looking forward to decompressing.

Congratulations to everyone who got cast in American Idiot! It's going to be an awesome show - but then SLUSHIED always does a great job, right?

Now, it looks like all of the kickass guitarists in the group have really big parts in the show, which means there's a big hole in the pit band... and guess who has been tapped to play guitar for the show?

:D!

I won't be at every rehearsal, but Mr. Shue and Mr. Brookes were nice enough to allow me to learn the score on my own, and show up at rehearsals when I can (that would be weekends). The semester has just started so things aren't too hectic yet. I'm sure I can handle it!

I'm really looking forward to working with you guys again!

So what's this I hear about SLUSHIED doing another musical this year?

Is it possible to get involved somehow? :) Let me know!

I need to break up with Tina, but it seems like it's never a good time to actually do so. First there were the holidays and then the New Year, and now we just can't seem to be in a position to at least talk to each other.

I'm sorry I couldn't hang out with you guys as much as I wanted, but when I got back to Lima, all I really wanted to do was get caught up on my sleep and after that had happened, it was Christmas and we were all doing our own thing. I didn't even get to brag about how I got straight A's my first semester in college :( :-p

How about a get-together or something the next weekend I get back?

Congratulations, New Directions, for your second win at Sectionals! I know, technically you tied, but a win is a win and you're still headed for Regionals! I have to admit that it was kind of bittersweet watching you guys do so well without me, but even then I was really proud of all of you and I'm so glad that all your hard work paid off.

I'm afraid I'll have to skip the holiday show this weekend (it is this weekend, right?) because of finals, but my parents promised to come. Even though I'm not in the group anymore, we still want to help! And just so you all know, my sister says she's going to join the club when she gets to high school if it's still around :)

Good luck to all of us with all these end-of-semester and holiday things! If anyone's going to hang out at anyone's house over the winter break, let me know, OK?

It's the weekend before finals, but I'll be there even if I have to come in just for that and then go right back to campus again.

Knock 'em dead, guys. It's New Directions' year to finally win it all!

And now I have to go back to studying.

New Physics Rant will be on hiatus for a while because we all don't want to flunk out of school :(

Finals week isn't until December 15th, but I'm already snowed in with final papers and assignments. (Benji, this doesn't mean I'm not going to be available for the holiday show you guys are putting on! I'm getting a head start on stuff so I'll be free then.) I'm doing well so far, but I also want to end the semester on a high note.

Oh, and I should also book my bus ticket home, but I have to wait until they release the exam schedule so I'll know if I can go home earlier than the 22nd.

On the bright side, I'll be with all of you in lovely Lima from the 22nd until after New Year!

Megan (our female vocalist, duh) has the vocals down, but we're trying to tweak it to sound more rap/rock. The guitar arrangements are, naturally, my department :)

OK, so we don't have any gigs yet - I mean, we just finished deciding on a name :-p but this is really exciting for me. Outside of Glee stuff, I've never been in a band before.

I should tell my dad!
